State Presidential Primary Voting Info

posted Apr 26, 2020, 10:18 AM by DCOCB Staff

There will be mailing ballots to all registered voters in Worcester County (approximately 42,000 voters) beginning the week of April 27, with all ballots being in the mail by May 1st.  SBE will conduct an extensive voter outreach and education program on television, radio and social media and WCBOE plans to piggyback off that on WCBOE website and Facebook pages.

Due to the expected high volume of phone calls to WCBOE office, beginning May 1st SBE has hired a call center to answer WCBOE phones and any general questions before forwarding  pertinent calls to WCBOE.  This will free up WCBOE staff to begin processing the returned ballots

Beginning May 21st through June 2nd, there will be ballot drop off boxes located outside Berlin Intermediate School (BIS) and outside the WCBOE .  In person voting will be held at BIS on June 2nd.

The canvass (counting) of the mail in ballots can begin May 21st, as long as there at least 500 ballots to count.  The canvass will be held daily until June 12th (tentatively, depending on number of ballots returned and rate of processing them during the canvass).  More details about this process will come once SBE has developed procedures.

Since the canvass is open to the public and due to COVID19 crowd restrictions, the canvass will be live streamed on the internet.
